And to all a good night!
I have decided that the following requires my comment:
Taking responsibility for your country’s safety and well-being.
Be involved in America. Be a good American citizen. It is not someone else's job. It is OUR job.
There are many benefits to being a U.S. citizen. Being a good U.S. citizen also requires certain responsibilities be borne.
“...everything is a circle. We’re each responsible for our actions. It will come back...”
Disaster is a fact of life.
More than 25,000 disasters, large and small, strike somewhere in the United States each year. That’s more than 50 disasters every day. These include both natural and man-made.
Imagine that right now - as you sit reading this article - a security incident is occurring in the next room (an assault, an act of terrorism, or something similar). What can you do in the next few minutes to neutralize the threat - or to save your life or the lives of those around you? Will you open the door before dialing “911” to notify the police? Will you fling open and bolt through the door? Do you know how many suspects are involved? Do you know if any weapons are involved? How will you counter the threat? Has the threat been verified? Or will you simply ignore it all, thinking to yourself, “it’s not my problem.”
Watch the news. Everyday someone’s life is changed for the better and, also, a life is changed for the worse. Could someone have done something to help prevent the tragedy? Instead of ignoring the assault on the child and continuing to walk, could that passerby have called “911” asking for help? It isn’t necessary to be a policeman or paramedic to help. It just requires doing what you are able to do, doing the “right thing”.
Be aware of your surroundings, don’t just travel along, oblivious to what is transpiring around you. When disaster strikes, respond, help your neighbor. Stop watching life, be a part of it. Get off your rear, turn off the TV/Video/Video game (fill in the blank). Be a part of your neighborhood, be a part of your country, be a part of this world. There may come a time when you are in dire need of assistance, the assistance of a “Good Samaritan,” your neighbor. If you think that it will never happen to "me or mine", you are already dead.

I am of immigrant parents, who fulfilled all that was required to become a part of America. They left countries dominated by evil...dominated by tyrants and killers. They can communicate in English fluently. They are of good moral character with no problems relating to criminal activities. They have given allegiance to America. My family lost loved ones during past wars involving tyrants.
We are American because it is worth something more than a dollar sign. It is something worthy of fighting...defending.
TO ALL...DON’T SELL US OUT!
Sincerely,
A concerned American Citizen
